About Awana
Scripture. Games. Community.
Awana helps children grow in their knowledge of Scripture and their faith in Jesus Christ. At GCC Madera, our Awana program runs every Wednesday evening during the school year, serving children from preschool through 6th grade.
Each club meets for 90 minutes of Handbook Time (verse memorization in small groups), Game Time (in the Pavilion), and Lesson Time (awards, Bible lesson, worship).
The 2026-2027 club year runs August 19, 2026 through June 2, 2027.

Cubbies
Ages 3-4 (must be 3 by Sept. 1)
Cubbies introduces young children to God's love through simple Bible stories, songs, and hands-on activities.

Sparks
Kindergarten-2nd Grade
Sparks children learn to memorize Scripture and discover the key stories of the Bible through the Handbook program.
Director: Rosemary Vickery
T&T (Truth & Training)
3rd-6th Grade
T&T challenges older kids to dig deeper into Scripture, develop convictions, and apply God's Word to everyday life.

Registration
What to Know Before You Register
Cost
$35/child/year (payment plans and scholarships available). The fee covers vests, shirts, books and awards, and replacements can be bought at cost any time during the club year.
What to Bring
Clubbers who have earned their uniforms are expected to wear them to club meetings. Closed-toe shoes are required for Game Square.
Handbooks
In the first week your child receives an entrance booklet. Completing it is what makes them eligible for their uniform and handbook, which they then work through for the rest of the year.
Verse Memorization
Many of the memory verses are set to song, with the references included, on the Christ Songs ESV channel.

Medical, Liability, and Media Release Form must be completed at registration. Also available at the church office.
